AV Injection took part in a cross country run to raise money for a wonderful young man called Oliver Pratley.
Oliver Pratley is 17 years olf and was born with downs syndrome, he was never expected to achieve much in life and with his love of water it was a must that he learnt to swim. Since then life has changed dramatically. Oliver was selected to swim with the GB downs swimming team in October 2009. On the 24th April 2010 Oliver competed at the European downs championships Breaking 2 junior world records. Oliver is in constant training with the GB Team and the Nova Squad. October 1st 2010 Oliver represented Great Britain at the Downs world championships held in Taiwan, where he broke several junior world records and came back home with 13 medals.
April 2011 Oliver competed in the European downs championships held in Southampton and broke 3 new Junior World Records. Oliver Currently holds 7 junior world records and 9 European which is a fantastic achievement for someone who has only been swimming for 4 years.
Oliver is began training hard ready for the Downs World Championships, held in Italy November 2012.
Unfortunately there is no government or lottery funding for Down Syndrome swimmers so all costs have to be self funded in some form which is where we came in.
Below are PDF Documents containing more information about Oliver and his HUGE success in his swimming!
